Being a Junior Counselor at Team Awesome Basketball Leadership Academy is more than running drills, hopping in scrimmages, and keeping camp organized and running smoothly throughout the week – it’s an opportunity to guide and develop the next generation of female athletes both on and off the court.
Throughout the week, I had the opportunity to help young girls recognize their unique leadership qualities that make them a key component and contributor on their team – not just an awesome shooter or a stealthy defender, but a LEADER, no matter their gifts or skill set.
Being a JC at TABLA also gave me the opportunity to explore my capacity as a leader, step out of my comfort zone, and challenge my own ideas of what my role is as an advocate for female athletes. It was such a great week full of basketball, fun, and developmental conversations – you couldn’t ask for more!
Junior Counselor applications are now open to current college student-athletes or recent graduates from any NCAA or NAIA divisions. Join us for a unique, extraordinary opportunity to empower the next generations of girls in sports!
