How would you describe your leadership style?
I would say I try to lead by example rather than being vocal. On the other hand, I use my voice to encourage my teammates and others around me.
What does Team Awesome mean to you?
I absolutely loved being on team awesome. There was never a time I was not excited to come to practice or tournament. We always had an up beat atmosphere and all got along, I think that’s why we played so well together. My love for the game grew each day I played with these group of girls, not to mention I gained many friendships that will last a life time.
What her teammate says about her:
“Marivel always stepped on the court with a smile on her face and she spread constant positivity no matter the circumstance. She always put the team first and knew how to embrace tough situations that allowed the team to stay close and true to their goals. She is an awesome teammate and leader!” – Mady Burdett
How will you change the world?
After finishing college I hope to become a dermatologist as well as participate in different service projects and mission trips around the world. My goal is to make a difference and impact peoples lives.
